Welcome to El Dorado First Baptist Church.  I am Dave Slayton, on staff as Associate Pastor of youth Ministries and Church Activities.  Our church family is a passionate family seeking ways to serve others in our community, our state, nationally and internationally.

     I was raised in Wichita, Kansas and came to know the Lord as a child through the witness of two Godly parents.  I moved to El Dorado and became a member of First Baptist Church after my marriage to my wife, Judy, in 1989.  For years I have worked in law enforcement as a juvenile probation officer/youth counselor.  I have also been successful in coaching different sports at the high school and college level in Wichita, Manhattan, and El Dorado.

     My wife also works with children as she has been an elementary school teacher in El Dorado for over twenty years.  God has blessed us with three wonderful children, Nicholas, Ryan, and Paige, and one daughter-in-law, Sarah.  Nicholas and Sarah are both teachers, living in Derby, Kansas.  Ryan is attending Texas Christian University in the Ranch Management Program.  And our daughter Paige will enter El Dorado High School this next year.

     My passion has always been to serve others, and just recently God has called me into His ministry.  If you are searching for a church family, a place to worship and serve God, I would like to encourage you to contact us.
