First Baptist Day Care and
Preschool
is based on a
Christ-centered program whose purpose is to give
the best possible care and to assist parents in
nurturing and educating young children in all
areas of their development.
As per the
Statement of Philosophy: “Our view of early
childhood as a time of discovering,
experiencing, exploring and ‘doing’ is best
described through our curricular goals.
Not only do we
teach Biblical concepts, we also strive to
integrate the love of God throughout the
program.
Our second goal in
our curriculum program is to present
developmentally appropriate concepts.
Young children are
concrete thinkers who learn by doing.
Therefore we
provide children with hands-on activities.”
The program, begun in 1964, has been steadily
growing until at present there are over 160
nursery, daycare, and preschool children
enrolled, with an additional 25 children in the
kindergarten through 5th grade
after-school program.
Only approximately
ten percent of these families attend
First
Baptist
Church,
so truly this ministry is a vital mission field
for our church.

Victory Christian Academy:
K-12 Christian Education.
In 2001, the
vision for what would become Victory Christian
Academy began to be realized. Local students,
parents, pastors, and others in the Christian
community shared a common desire for a
Christ-centered educational alternative in the
El Dorado area. Through a variety of surveys,
meetings, and the abundant grace of God, the
hopes of many coalesced into a concerted effort.
In September 2002, Victory Christian Academy’s
first school year began in the old church
building (formerly the El Dorado House of
Prayer) which stood at the corner of Atchison
and Pine. For the 2003-2004 school year, Victory
Christian Academy was moved to its present home
at 115 South Star (formerly the Christian Life
Center for First Baptist Church and, originally,
the El Dorado Civic Auditorium). Although
curriculum has expanded, facilities changed, and
the numbers of both students and teaching staff
have more than doubled over the years, VCA
continually strives to remain immoveable on that
one true foundation, Jesus Christ. ...more

AWANA
is an international Bible-centered children’s ministry
whose goal is to equip churches and parents to raise
spiritual champions who know, love, and serve Christ.
Awana is derived from the
first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, as
taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.
Today 12,000 U.S. churches
have Awana programs, as well as over 5,100 churches in
109 other countries and six continents.
Children hold a special
place in Jesus’ heart.
He created them. He
sacrificed His life for their sins. He longs for them to
know, love, and serve Him.
He desires to spend
eternity with them.
His kingdom
belongs to such
as these.
From preschool
Cubbies, to kindergarten-2nd grade Sparks, to
3rd-6th grade Truth and Training
Clubs, Awana has the passion to bring boys and girls to
faith in Jesus Christ, to teach them the truth of God’s
Word, and to train them to follow Christ in their daily
lives. EFC Awana

The Gideons International,
founded in 1899, serves as an extended missionary arm of
the church and is the oldest Christian business and
professional men’s association in the United States.
The Gideons ministry exists
for the purpose of winning men, women, boys and girls to
the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Gideons International
is supported by First Baptist Church and others who
realize that an indispensable element in winning people
to Christ is to present them with the gospel message.
Motels, jails, schools,
hospitals, and the military all receive donated copies
of God’s Word through this ministry.
A Scripture placed by The Gideons
International resulted in this testimony:
"I accepted
a New Testament from the Gideons at my school in New
Zealand.
Since my parents were
atheist, I smuggled the New Testament into my bedroom
and put it under the mattress where no one could find
it.
After my bedroom light was
turned out, I would crawl under the covers and read my
New Testament by flashlight each evening before going to
sleep.
After reading for several
weeks, I asked God to forgive me of my sins and trusted
Jesus Christ as my Savior.
.
I felt like
I needed to tell someone what I had done and thought Mom
would be most likely.
She asked if she could
examine the little book for awhile.
During the following weeks
the entire family had read the New Testament.
All of them have come to
now Jesus Christ as Savior.
Thank you so much for the
little New Testament.” – Anonymous
